Due to the big interest for participation in the European Youth Ultimate Championships (EYUC) 2009 in Vienna, it has been decided to let the tournament run for four (4) days. The dates will therefore be August 5-8, 2009. Check in will start on Tuesday, 4th August. Finals will be Saturday afternoon, the prize ceremony at 20:30h.
There have been questions concerning possibilities to have overaged players in the Junior and U17 divisions. The policy has always been to let anyone wanting to participate to be able to play. However, the consequence for a team with such a player will be that it cannot play for medals (not qualify for semifinals). The same applies for a 2nd team from a nation, or an international team (combination of players from various nations), according to earlier exceptions.
Today the EYUC'09 organizing committee has passed on this further information:
Now registration continues until May 1st, when there's a first deadline for payment of the team fee.
Registration for volunteers has started.
Currently we're updating the championship's page http://eyuc.eoefc.at/
Since the interest in the U17 girls' division is quite small, there is still the chance to build international teams, as Chris Dehnhardt already wrote in an email to EuroDisc.
